Chofn Listed as 2016 Top IP Firm by MIP

Chofn Intellectual Property topped all Chinese trade mark filers last year with a total 36,890 applications. Business saw significant growth in 2013 with over Rmb 100 million (US$16.28 million) for the first time. Several large clients signed on in the past year, including Alibaba, Samsung, Lotto, Chinese sportswear brand Qiaodan, herbal tea brand Jiaduobao and traditional drug maker Yulin.


The firm also represents several Chinese liquor brands, such as Wuliangye, Luzhou Laojiao, Jian Nan Chun and Shui Jing Fang.

Chofn has considerable experience in opposition matters. Last year, it successfully represented Coach in an opposition to a registration by another party for the Coach Design mark. In late 2012, it helped the BBC oppose a registration in class 16 by a local sanitary products maker.
